The objective of this talk is to share current research activities at Purdue’s Continuous Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Pilot Plant, which comprises of direct compression and dry granulation lines. A particle characterization lab with state of art equipment supports validation of continuous manufacturing activities. The presentation will focus on the role of sensor networks for PAT, data reconciliation, advanced process control, as well as modeling of tablet compaction processes that influence pharmaceutical continuous manufacturing and conclude with a note on future trends.
