Maintaining a uniform blend of dry bulk solids is a problem faced daily by engineers and operators in industries as varied as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foods, plastics, and battery production. Even when a good blend is achieved, maintaining that blend through downstream powder handling in equipment is a complex problem. The inability to maintain a blend (i.e. segregation) at the point where it is needed is always costly and results in rejected material, extra blending time, and defective end products. Topics covered include:

  • The nature of particle segregation and its importance to your industry
  • How to analyze existing problems and utilize design techniques to prevent problems
  • Effective sample techniques
