The key to optimizing a dense-phase conveying application is an accurate calculation of phase density (the ratio of material conveyed to air/gas) within the conveyor. Unfortunately, because they are sealed systems, dense phase conveyors are black boxes in terms of their performance when it comes to energy consumption. As a result, equipment vendors must often rely on personal experience and material test results borrowed from academic research, while industry customers can only evaluate potential solutions on the price of equipment, but not operating costs (i.e. power). If power consumption in your dense conveyor application is a concern, attend this session to learn about the "Power Op", an internet-enabled DIY kit than can be easily retrofitted to any dense phase pressure pot.
