Location: Room 4

Date: Wednesday, April 29

Time: 10:15am - 11:45am

Track: Track D:Solids Processing & Quality

Vault Recording: TBD

Moving bed processing vessels are hoppers, bins, and silos that are modified to allow processing of a bulk solid (e.g., heating or cooling, drying, conditioning, or providing time and volume) for a chemical reaction to occur. In this session you’ll discuss important aspects to improve your design and operation. Topics covered include:

  • Reliable powder flow in the context of moving bed processing vessels
  • Test methods for gathering solids flow, kinetic, and thermodynamic data
  • How to use the results of tests to design moving bed indirect and direct heat exchangers, gravity dryers and purge columns, and moving bed reactors
