Across the world, both at sites located around residential areas or in remote locations, it is an increasingly important requirement to control, monitor and understand dust emissions produced throughout the bulk materials handling chain – regulations are tightening and penalties increasing. This presentation will examine the current tests that exist for understanding the behaviour of your materials, with regards to the emission of dust, and how these tests can be used to inform site practices and policies to achieve the best results. Test procedures will be discussed, as will the results they yield, in an effort to understand the current status of services, including shortfalls, and current efforts to produce better services that can be directly related to site behaviour.
