How to Contain Difficult-to-Seal Powders & Slurries

Zach Nepa  (Regional Manager, SEPCO)

Location: Room 1

Date: Wednesday, April 29

Time: 1:30pm - 3:00pm

Track: Track A: Material Flow & Storage

Vault Recording: TBD

From pulp to animal cracker dough, the right shaft seal keeps mixers, blenders, and agitators turning. The shafts of mixers, blenders, and agitators are difficult to seal, leading to a host of problems such as wasted product, housekeeping issues, product leakage, slip/fall hazards, bacterial buildup, and other sanitation risks. Resulting maintenance, repairs, and replacements can generate significant losses to productivity. Using real world examples, attendees will learn:

  • Technology options available for shaft sealing, from implementation to operation
  • Methods and practical knowledge sustain and even improve shaft seal performance
  • How to assess your needs, select the right equipment, and get the most out of it
