Adopting the concept of parallel processing can have many benefits for your manufacturing facility, in terms of safety, profitability, and perhaps most critically, agility. Consumer demand is becoming increasingly complex. Manufacturers are faced with demand that calls for greater numbers of products (in terms of SKUs on the store shelf), as well as growing demand for reformulation of product recipes. Truly competitive manufacturers will be those who embrace agility throughout their process lines and seek ways to reduce or eliminate the time required for changeovers, increase their ability to add or remove ingredients on the fly, and become generally directly responsive to shifts in consumer demand.
