The baghouse / dust collector is an integral component to many industrial processes. However, many baghouses in operation do not offer adequate technology to accommodate today’s aggressive production demands. Thus, plant operators are faced with decisions concerning upgrade of the baghouse to a more efficient design, such as a pulse-jet that utilizes a powerful, short blast of compressed air in a reverse direction to clean particulates collected on the outside surface of the filter bags.

This presentation discusses upgrading to higher performance pulse jet cleaning controller to enhance dust collection cleaning along with the benefits in terms of reduced energy consumption, and filtration enhancement. Auburn FilterSense B-PAC pulse jet cleaning controller gives the operators process variables such as individual compartment/row emissions, total particulate emissions, filter leaks by row, pulse rates, and energy use and provides the following benefits:

  • identify filter leaks by row
  • locates failed solenoids and pulse valves
  • tighter pressure control from IntelliPULSE Technology
  • stable airflow regardless of inlet loading
  • minimizes compressed air consumption
  • less pulsing extends filter life and reduces emissions

The combination of charge induction particulate monitoring and integrated baghouse diagnostics provides total insight and control to minimize emissions and maximize production.
